Done. Accomplished. Dealt with. Over. Finished.
Jesus’ sacrifice was enough. It has fully dealt with our sin. And the resurrection sealed it all.
Are you living out of this reality? On your worst day you aren’t any less loved. On your best day you aren’t any more loved.
You are now an adopted daughter or son of God. Your father, through faith and the new birth in Jesus, lavishes his affection and delight upon you.
You didn’t earn it but you sure do get to enjoy it! Are you enjoying it? Are you relishing in this? Are you resting in this love?
Or are you still rejecting it? Are you still trying to earn it?
Stop living for victory and start living FROM the victory of Jesus.
His life, death, and resurrection is a resounding statement that God does indeed take our sin very, very seriously. It is an indictment that we aren’t nearly as good as we think. We have been outed as inwardly evil, selfish, proud, and unbelieving.
But the bad news of the cross paves way for the good news that in Jesus, while we aren’t good enough, HE IS! He was born under the law to redeem those cursed by the law (Galatians 4:4-7) by living in our place. The somber reality of our inability points us to the all sufficient ability of Jesus to be our substitute. To be our sacrifice. To pay our way.
The resurrection has sealed this victory for us. We merely respond in faith and worship, offering our lives to this supreme God worthy of all praise. His costly love moves our hearts, minds, and actions to joyful obedience.
Let this grace melt your heart this Easter Sunday.
Rest in it. Enjoy it. Savor it.
“amazing grace, how sweet the sound, that saved a wretch like me. I once was lost, but now am found, was blind but now I see.” – John Newton.
